Gruppo Investimenti Portuali strengthens its top management with Conforti and Ghezzi
(FERPRESS) – Genoa, July 31 – The board of directors of Gruppo Investimenti Portuali SpA, the company that operates the SECH and TDT terminals in Genoa and Livorno respectively, recently co-opted Marco Conforti, board member of Feport (European Terminal Operators Association) and vice-president of Confetra (Italiana Transport and Logistics Confederation), and twice president of Assiterminal (National Terminal Operators Association).
Having joined Fiat Group to develop new port terminal business through the holding company Sinport, Conforti contributed to the development of the Voltri/Prà project in Genoa and other port and logistics initiatives.
After the acquisition of Fiat’s business by Singapore-based PSA in 1998, he held various posts in group companies such as VTE, Vecon and PDE before being appointed executive director and general manager of Sinport and a senior advisor to PSA for the Mediterranean Europe, Middle East and South Asia Region.
Gioia Ghezzi, president of the board of directors of Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato since 2015, has been appointed Senior Advisor to Gruppo Investimenti Portuali SpA.
Ghezzi began her career in research at IBM. After a long spell as a partner at McKinsey & Company in London she joined Willis Group Holdings as operating director. She then moved to Zurich Insurance Group, where she was CEO of the IGRS division (International Group Risk Solutions), a director of Zurich Life Insurance Company and president of Zurich Eurolife.
